Compliance Checks

Some traffic sources violate partner agreements, legal requirements, or brand safety standards — for example, traffic from adult sites, gambling domains, or illegal streaming platforms. The Compliance Checks filter scans the referrer URL of each request and rejects traffic from domains that match blocked content categories or keyword patterns.

Integr8 evaluates the referrer domain on each incoming request using two methods:

  1. AI-powered category classification: An automated crawler analyzes domain content and assigns it to categories (adult, fraud, drugs, hate speech, P2P/streaming). Traffic from domains in your blocked categories is rejected.

  2. Keyword matching: You define keywords that, when found in the referrer URL, trigger a rejection. Partial matches apply — adding casino blocks free-casino-games.net.

Both methods can be used simultaneously.

Navigate to Offers > Fraud Detection Groups > select a filter group > Compliance Checks.

Parameter Default Options Description
enabled false true, false Enable compliance checks (referrer category and keyword filtering)
block_mode Block Block, Flag Action taken when the referrer matches a blocked category or keyword
Category Internal value Description
Fraud fraud Domains associated with known fraud operations
Drugs drugs Pharmaceutical or drug-related content
Torrent / P2P torrent Torrent sites and unauthorized streaming platforms
Proxy proxy Domains operating as open web proxies
Adult porn Adult content sites

Enable any category to block all traffic from domains classified in that category.

Add keywords to match against referrer URLs. Each match rejects the click with fraud_reason: compliance_checks. Up to 100 keywords can be added directly.

Example: Adding torrent blocks traffic from https://mytorrentdomain.com.

For large-scale campaigns or multiple geos, use keyword groups:

  • Each group holds up to 10,000 keywords (one per line, TXT upload supported)
  • Up to 10 groups can be active simultaneously
  • Groups are managed centrally and can be reused across filter groups

When a request’s referrer matches a blocked category or keyword:

  • The request is rejected with fraud_reason: compliance_checks.
  • No attribution is recorded.
  • The event is logged in Reports > Click Reports.
  • Keyword Filter — blocks traffic based on the &keyword= search parameter, not the referrer
  • ISP Filter — blocks traffic from specific ISPs regardless of referrer
